What we do
Metron <> Greek for measurement
The Metron … a small, powerful sensor
We design and manufacture the Metron, a small cost-effective, patented device that precisely measures drill or bore holes up to 30 metres depth.
The Metron instantly and wirelessly captures hole temperature, depth and water content, and then sends the data wirelessly to any operating system.
Enabling mine operators, shot firers and explosives contractors determine the exact type and volume of explosives.
Applications
-
Mining
Open-cut mining such as iron ore, coal, bitumen, copper, coquina, diamonds, gold, molybdenum, silver, uranium, phosphate, salt, lithium
-
Quarrying
Stone, gravel, granite, gritstone, marble, clay, gypsum
-
Civil works
Dams, roads, cuttings
Outcomes and benefits
-
Improved results
Removes dipping labour
Reduces other costs from excess and more costly explosives used, mineral loss from suboptimal blasts, re-blasting, misfires and hot holes
D&B contractors can out-compete peers
Improves profits for site principals
-
Time saved
Negates dipping time
Vastly improves cycle times
Days’ labour saved
-
Risk management
Good data improves environmental, safety and other risk factors
Reduces feet on ground
Less explosives used
Less explosive incidents
